Valtech Valuation Advisory is an independent, ISO 9001 certified valuation firm in Hong Kong. For 18 years and across more than 1,000 valuations, we have prepared reports for Hong Kong companies, HKEX-listed issuers, private equity and venture funds, family offices and their advisers – for statutory audits, Stock Exchange filings, fundraising, tax and disputes. Every report is signed by a director holding internationally recognised credentials, and is written on the assumption that it will be tested.

Why Valtech Is the Preferred Choice for Many Companies

A valuation report is rarely read by just one person. In Hong Kong it is usually reviewed by your auditors and, depending on its purpose, by the Stock Exchange, tax authorities, the courts, lenders and sometimes international stakeholders – overseas parent companies, foreign investors and group auditors. The people behind the report matter as much as the numbers in it.

1. A strong team with outstanding international credentials

Our directors hold an unusually broad set of qualifications, earned in Hong Kong, the United States, the United Kingdom and Mainland China:

  • CPA – Certified Public Accountant (HKICPA)
  • CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst
  • FRM – Financial Risk Manager (GARP)
  • MRICS – Chartered Valuation Surveyor (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
  • ABV – Accredited in Business Valuation (AICPA)
  • China Certified Public Valuer (China Appraisal Society)

Because valuations are reviewed by authorities, auditors and international stakeholders, a team with solid international credentials helps: reviewers in Hong Kong, Mainland China, the US and the UK all recognise these qualifications, giving your report immediate standing and reducing back-and-forth during review. The team also combines accounting, valuation, surveying and quantitative finance – the mix that complex work actually requires.

2. Senior members closely monitor every valuation

Valtech's directors are hands-on. The valuer who builds your model is the one who answers your auditor's questions and signs the report – not a partner seeing the file for the first time at review. Your concerns are addressed by an experienced professional who knows your business and your numbers, from scoping to sign-off and beyond.

3. Built for audit and regulatory challenge

Assumptions are sourced, methodology is justified against the applicable standard and sensitivities are shown. Auditor and regulator queries are handled as part of the engagement, not billed as an extra.

4. Certified quality, regional reach

Our ISO 9001 certified quality system means every report passes defined review steps before release. With offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, a Hong Kong holding company with subsidiaries or assets elsewhere in the region can be covered under one scope and one report, in English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese.

How an Engagement Runs

  1. Scoping – you tell us the entity, purpose, valuation date and standard; we confirm scope, information needed, fee and delivery date in an engagement letter.
  2. Information and analysis – we gather financials, forecasts, cap tables and agreements and build the model using the market, income or cost approach the standard requires.
  3. Draft and review – internal ISO 9001 review happens before you see the draft, with key assumptions flagged for your confirmation.
  4. Sign-off and audit support – we issue the signed report and deal directly with auditor or regulator questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a business valuation cost in Hong Kong?

Fees are quoted per engagement. The main drivers are the number of entities and share classes, whether the report supports an audit or a regulatory filing, the number of valuation dates, the quality of available information and the turnaround required. Send us the basics and we will reply with a fixed scope and fee.

How long does a valuation report take?

A straightforward single-entity engagement with complete information typically reaches draft in one to two weeks. PPAs, ECL models and multi-date share-based payment work take longer. Year-end is the busiest period, so engaging before your reporting date materially improves turnaround.

Will my auditor accept the report?

Acceptance depends on the valuer's independence and qualifications, the fit of the methodology to the standard, and evidence for the assumptions. Our reports are prepared under an ISO 9001 certified system, signed by internationally credentialled directors, and we respond to auditor queries directly.

Do you work with private companies as well as listed groups?

Yes. Much of our Hong Kong practice is private companies – family businesses, startups, SMEs preparing statutory accounts and PE portfolio companies – alongside listed issuers.
