Valtech’s valuation team recently has successfully completed valuation on a portfolio of satellite assets for a Hong Kong-based client, demonstrating our technical expertise in fixed asset valuation.
The engagement presented unique challenges, including legal constraints surrounding asset ownership and the highly technical nature of the equipment. In the course of the valuation, our valuation experts primarily applied the cost approach, estimating replacement costs and deducting for both functional and economic obsolescence. While the market approach was limited by the niche characteristics of the assets, our team identified and analyzed rare comparable transactions, applying appropriate valuation adjustments to arrive at a supportable conclusion.
