On 30 September 2026, the Hong Kong Government launched the two-year Pilot Patent Valuation Support Scheme (the “Scheme”), giving local SMEs a subsidy to have their patents and other intellectual property (IP) assets professionally valued. The valuation gives banks and investors concrete evidence of what a company’s IP is worth, opening the door to IP-backed financing.
